Teaching ballroom dancing since 1989, Emily Marshall has competed nationally, and internationally in the Latin, Standard, and American Smooth styles of dance. This following 18 yrs of ballet, modern, and jazz. Throughout high school Emily performed with the Lansing Ballet Company, in Lansing, MI, Southold Dance Theater, in South Bend, IN, and in college, graduated with a BFA in Modern Dance, from the University of the Arts, in Philadelphia, PA.
Moving to New York City, Emily began teaching, and competing professionally, becoming a National Rising Star American Smooth finalist. Later, she began competing in the International Latin division where she then had the opportunity to travel to England to study and compete. Moving to Las Vegas in 1997, Emily began dancing with long time partner John Yates. They competed in International Latin and Standard where they became National 10-dance finalists, and in the American Smooth, becoming National Rising Star finalists. As a team, they performed in shows in Las Vegas, on cruise ships, and television, and owned a dance studio in Las Vegas called Las Vegas Dancesport.
Currently residing in Camarillo, CA, Emily teaches group classes and private lessons by appointment, at Nova Dance Studio.
